LIFE CLIMAWIN participated in the 5th edition of the International Conference on Water, Energy, Food and Sustainability (ICoWEFS 2025), which was held on 14, 15 and 16 May in Leiria, Portugal. The venue and organisers of the event were the Polytechnic of Leiria.
It was an important forum that fostered innovation and knowledge exchange in the water-energy-food nexus, embracing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), bringing together leading academics, researchers and industry experts.
The presentation ‘Smart renewable energy for climate change mitigation in vineyards and wineries’ took place within the topic ‘Agrifood’ where an article of the project was presented.
The article will be published in one of the indexed books of Springer’s ‘Lecture Notes on Multidisciplinary Industrial Engineering’ series.
For its implementation, LIFE CLIMAWIN has a consortium led by the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), which will work for 42 months together with the University of Zaragoza, the company Intergia Energía Sostenible SL, the Bodega Bosque de Matasnos and the Plataforma Tecnológica del Vino.
This initiative, 101113948 – LIFE22-CCM-ES-CLIMAWIN, which runs from July 2023 to December 2026, has a budget of 994,195.02€ and has received funding of 596,516.82€ from the European Union’s LIFE Programme.
